'A clear message': 4 reactions to the US resettling Afrikaners from South Africa

Myal Greene, president and CEO of World Relief, an Evangelical Christian resettlement organization affiliated with the National Association of Evangelicals, expressed frustration with the government's suspension of the traditional resettlement process.
In a statement released May 9, Greene said World Relief has traditionally supported and resettled refugees from places like the Congo, Afghanistan, Syria, Burma and Venezuela.
"We remain gravely concerned with the sustained suspension of the State Department's refugee resettlement initial resettlement process, which has abandoned thousands of refugees who have fled the world's greatest crises," he said.
While pledging to serve the Afrikaner refugees "with the same compassion and respect we serve others, rooted in our biblical convictions," Greene urged the administration to resume broader resettlement for persecuted groups, including Evangelical Christians.
"We hope the administration will put as much energy into restarting a robust program targeting people fleeing the world's greatest crises as they have toward this relatively small population," said Greene.
